The USCENTCOM Department of Defense Rewards Program rewards eligible persons who provide information or nonlethal assistance to U.S. or allied forces that enables or enhances force protection or combating terrorism.

The USCENTCOM Department of Defense Rewards Program offers rewards for information that enables or enhances the protection of, or combating terrorism by, U.S. or allied forces. An example would be warning the U.S. Government of an imminent threat to the safety and security of U.S. or allied forces or reporting on individuals responsible for threats and activities that have occurred against U.S. and allied forces

How are reward payments paid?
Once a tip has been investigated and proven to be useful and verfiably true, a USCENTCOM Department of Defense Rewards Program official will contact the individual discreetly, and reward them accordingly with a monetary reward or reward in kind. How are reward payment amounts determined?
The USCENTCOM Department of Defense Rewards Program pays monetary rewards, or rewards in kind, of up to $5,000,000 USD. The value of each rewardable activity varies. The more unique and important the information, the higher the value of the reward. Assessing the reward value depends upon many different factors, such as how valuable the USCENTCOM Department of Defense deems the information provided and the severity of the incident that is prevented or that has occured.

The authority to conduct the Department of Defense Rewards Program is the United States Code, 2012 Edition, Supplement 4, Title 10 – ARMED FORCES, Subtitle A – General Military Law, PART 1 – ORGANIZATION AND GENERAL MILITARY POWERS, CHAPTER 3 – GENERAL POWERS AND FUNCTIONS, Sec. 127b – Department of Defense Rewards Program.
