As of March 2024, the US Department of Defense (DoD) Rewards Program has paid out over $26.4 million USD in rewards payments.

Rewards have been paid out to individuals who have provided actionable and verifiable information. Because of the sensitivity of the activity, only a small minority of these success stories can be shared openly with the public. However, information that has been verified and acted upon includes details of terrorists or terrorist group operations, unmanned aerial vehicles (commonly known as drones or UAVs), lone-wolf attacks against US forces, weapons caches and illicit smuggling activity.

The program has paid hundreds of individuals for the valuable information that they provided, and it continues to see success in eliciting information on issues that negatively impact the region.
