What is the USCENTCOM Department of Defense Rewards Program?

The USCENTCOM Department of Defense Rewards Program was established to reward eligible persons who provide information or nonlethal assistance to U.S. or allied forces that enables or enhances force protection or combating terrorism.

How does the program work?

  • The tip is encrypted and shared with USCENTCOM Department of Defense officials, then assessed and verified.

  • If the tip is both verifiably true and useful, the individual will be contacted discreetly and rewarded accordingly.

What makes a good tip?

Tips that are accurate and detailed are more likely to be verified and rewarded, especially if the information concerns activities or persons of particular interest to the USCENTCOM Department of Defense. Several factors increase the chances of obtaining a reward, including:

  • The accuracy and credibility of the tip information.

  • If the information is provided in a timely manner.

  • Providing accurate contact details of who’s sharing the tip, including email or phone number.

  • Only sharing tip information once on the website.

Remember, we take security of information extremely seriously. Any information, including details about who is sharing tips with us, is confidential and protected.

What is rewardable information?

Rewardable information is information or nonlethal assistance that enables or enhances the protection of, or combating terrorism by, U.S. or allied forces.

This includes, but is not limited to, information on:

  • Individuals or organizations planning international terrorist acts against U.S. persons or property.

  • Individuals or organizations responsible for a terrorist act already committed.

  • Force protection, including information that assists in prevention and avoidance of terrorist acts.

  • Terrorist group operations and how the organizations obtain, use and transfer funds.

  • Nefarious means of raising money to finance terrorism, including illegal smuggling of materials being utilized to finance individuals or groups.

  • Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), recovered UAS devices or parts, weapon caches, explosives, or chemical weapons.

  • Lone-wolf attacks against U.S. forces.

  • Members of terrorist organizations.

Even if you don’t think the information you have is important, it might help with any current investigations and be rewarded.

Reward value

The value of each rewardable activity varies. The more unique and important the information, the higher the value of the reward.

Assessing the reward value depends upon many different factors, such as how valuable the USCENTCOM Department of Defense deems the information provided and the severity of the incident that is prevented or that has occurred.
